Pure Onyx Movement is a dance ensemble created by three queens, using breath, the art of bellydance and movement of life to show the world how beautiful and rich our black history is. Join us on our maiden voyage...we hope you enjoy the ride.
Pure Onyx Movement honors our ancestors by dancing the dance that celebrates the magic, mysteries, and abilities of a woman. And like our ancestors, we dance barefoot to connect to the ground to signify the ancient physical connection between the dancer, the music, and Mother Earth. Through belly dance, we honor the life and weave a tapestry of honors for the stages of life. We the members of the Pure Onyx Movement Dance the dances of all those who've danced before us.
